Vintage IKEA Memphis style ceiling / wall lamp, 1980’s
During the 1980’s, IKEA commissioned high-end designers like Ettore Sottsass and Verner Panton to create some memorable designs for lamps and furniture. This vintage ceiling lamp is one example. Its simplicity is stunning, while the design itself still stands the test of time today. From its metal base, the lamp has 3 wooden elements (square, circle and triangle) in the primary colors that Memphis Milano is also known for. The lamp shade is a cone of white acrylic, which offers the space for 2 regular E27 light bulbs. Removing the lamp shade is done by twisting the wooden elements. The attachment is also simple but functional, it also makes this lamp suited as a nice wall lamp. It is suited for both 110V and 220V grid. Max. 40W recommended. The lamp is off course fully functional and in a good vintage condition, without cracks or (serious) scratches. Dimensions Diameter: 45 centimeter (17,7″) Heigth: 23 centimeter (9″)
